On June 2, a 17-year-old girl walking home from Clackamas High School told Clackmas County deputies a man pushed her to the ground and stole her phone, before fleeing the scene in a black SUV with tinted windows.

An hour-and-a-half later, investigators said a 46-year-old woman was unloading a shopping cart full of groceries at the shopping center on 120th and SE Sunnyside Road when a man grabbed her purse. The woman grabbed his shirt, but the suspect broke free and fled in an SUV similar to the previous victim’s description, according to Detective Jim Strovink.

“When he grabbed my purse, I just reached … and grabbed him and scooted around the car and thats when he slammed the door and got away,” crime victim Sue Petersen said. She added that several witnesses ran to her aid, shocked at what just happened. Petersen says the suspect jumped in the passenger seat and he and another man nonchalantly drove out of the Safeway parking lot. Petersen got her purse back, it was found ditched along the roadside. Some cash and a gift card had been taken out.

Two days later, a 50-year-old woman said she was walking near Nella Way and Sunny Way when a man standing next to a tan colored, KIA Spectra tried to grab the her iPhone. She was able to get it back and the man fled in the vehicle with three other males inside.

This suspect was said to be between 18 – 23 years old, 5’10″ tall weighing 180 lbs., with a medium complexion, dark hair and unshaven. Deputies said he was wearing a T-shirt, flannel/button-up shirt and blue jeans.

Daytona Beach, FL, United States (AHN Sports) – NASCAR penalized crew chief Peter Rondeau and Jeffrey Earnhardt returned to Rick Ware Racing as the two mended their fences.

Rondeau, the crew chief for the No. 78 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, was fined $25,000 for violating sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20-2.3A (improperly attached weight) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book last weekend at Auto Club Speedway.

In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Earnhardt, the grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt, and RWR parted ways over a misunderstanding Tuesday, but have put the miscommunication behind them and will race together at Martinsville, Va., this weekend.

“We just want to race, and sometimes the issues of business just seem to make us lose focus on why we are here,” said team owner Rick Ware.

“Jeffrey will be in the truck at Martinsville and we will work hard to continue to keep him in that seat. The amount of effort we have poured into his career and having a place for him to perform is important in his development. He is young and there is a lot of promise in him and both the management of RWR and JEI have the same goal for him.”

RWR released Earnhardt after hearing that the driver and his management team were shopping him and his sponsor, Fuel Doctor, to other racing teams.

Earnhardt said it was a misunderstanding and that it was his understanding that the sponsor wanted to make the change. Earnhardt will compete in the No. 1 Fuel Doctor Chevy at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway this weekend.

“Fuel Doctor has become a recognized brand in both NASCAR and with consumers all over the world and I am proud to say that we have had a part to do with that success,” said Ware.

Kiev, Ukraine (AHN) – Ukrainian authorities have detained ex-Interior Minister Yury Lutsenko as part of an inquiry into the pro-Western cabinet of ex-premier turned opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

His spokeswoman Inna Kysil said special security officers stuffed former Orange Revolution leader Lutsenko into the car when he was out for a walk with his dog and son in Kiev.

He was taken to the Security Service of Ukraine-operated jail, which is a byproduct of the Soviet-era KGB.

“He had already been ordered not to leave the city, so I think that this arrest came as a complete surprise to him,” said Kysil.

The prosecutor general’s office confirmed about Lutsenko’s arrest but refused to make any formal statement.

The 46-uear-old Lutsenko faced charges of abusing power and possessing state property last month.

Lutsenko denied the charges and said that the move was politically motivated.

A statement at the party’s website said that Lutsenko was arrested as part of an investigation into ex-president Viktor Yushchenko’s poisoning. Yushchenko was a presidential candidate in that 2004 election.

What is the single most important thing you can do to ensure the your cat enjoys the best health?

Is it immunising your cat against all the common or known feline diseases?

Is it keeping your cat indoors, away from potential hazards such as fighting or car accidents?

Is it having them sterilised?

Could it be ensuring their teeth are clean?

Did you know that the top pet food manufacturers financially contribute to veterinary colleges? I may be old fashioned, but to me that means the colleges aren’t completely impartial. After all, you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

I suspect, that since you have reached this article, you’re searching for another way to improve your cats’ health, other than that recommended by your veterinarian – which is invariably everyone’s first choice.

Contrary to popular belief, and to most vets who sell processed food, it is the processed food itself which wreaks such havoc with cat health. Cats evolved by hunting animals and consuming most of it immediately.

Their digestive system has evolved to cope with this. Cooked, processed, preservatives and the very low grade meat by-products which are the basis for the majority of proprietary cat food on the market, is the single, most damaging factor in the deteriorating health of your cat.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – NASCAR driver Robby Gordon claims he was used and abused by the people who make Extenze — claiming he put their logo on a car he owned … but instead of paying him, they gave him the shaft, according to TMZ.

Gordon claims the company behind the sex pills agreed to fork over a ton of cash if Robby — who owns a race car team — would splash the logo on a car operated by his driver Kevin Conway at NASCAR events in October and November.

But when Kevin was in danger of falling out of the prestigious top 35 ranked cars — Robby asked the Extenze people if he could personally drive the Extenze car instead.

In his lawsuit, filed Friday in L.A. County Superior Court, Gordon claims the Extenze people initially agreed to the deal … so he made the switch.

It was only after the races, Gordon claims, that Extenze refused to pay him citing breach of contract because he got in the driver’s seat instead of Kevin.

Now, Gordon wants Extenze to pay him at least $690,000 to, ahem, straighten things out.
