Hi its Arlo from CanaryStore.com Today i’d like to share with you something that is often the result of most canary deaths… ==================================================================== Major Mistake #5: Horrible Hygiene ==================================================================== Canaries have quite a few talents, but cleaning up after themselves is NOT one of them. All in all, canaries make quite a few more messes than they’ll ever even THINK about tidying (TUT)… That means (in case you couldn’t tell) that YOU, as the canary’s owner, need to keep their house clean! First off, here are just 6 deadly problems that poor hygiene can cause: -Feather picking and plucking -Internal parasites -Respiratory illnesses and colds (from dust contamination in their food) -Overgrown beaks and claws -Mites and lice -Diarrhea …and the list could go on seemingly forever. While some of these issues are easily remedies, others can be very serious, even deadly. ==================================================================== Here’s What To Do… ==================================================================== The best rule of thumb is for you to regularly clean and disinfect not only your canary’s cage, but every other item inside, including feeding/watering dishes, bells, toys, perches, bird baths – you name it. Aim to do this on average of once each week. Additionally, it’s important to properly line your cage floor with something absorbent to help keep odors and droppings issues down to a minimum. If your cage comes with a bottom grate, it’s also a good idea to use sand or gravel paper. If there is no bottom grate, instead rely on a layer of corn cob or another similar substitute. Grates will prevent your canary from walking in the soiled bottom and from eating anything soiled down below and getting ill. Replace any liners every two or three days – don’t wait until your weekly clean up or you could wind up with some SERIOUS hygienic issues before you know it… If the cage has any hard-to-clean grub or debris, use a stiff brush to scour the wires and continue to do so until all “cling-ons” have been removed. When you clean your perches, you can also use a stiff brush or specialty cleaning tool available at most petstores, just remember to be sure that your wooden perches or branches are COMPLETELY dried out before re-introducing your bird into the cage, as exposure to this dampness can result in respiratory and other serious health concerns.. {!firstname_fix}, if you order my step-by-step ‘Canary Keeping for Beginners’ guide today, ill include, as a FREE gift: Essential Canary Healthcare A comprehensive guide on how to prevent and stop diseases in your birds and treat your canaries to the healthy life they deserve.

You took the first job you were offered out of school. You don’t love it or hate it. It just pays the bills until you decide what you want to do in life, or meet someone. But the rumors have starting flying that your company needs is to trim down. You know that the rumors are likely true, especially in this economy. You try to do well in your work and know your bosses are pleased. You don’t know that you are going to get the ax. However, you’re getting pretty bored of going to work, coming home and having nothing to do. So you decide to slowly start a parrot business. You loved your pet Willie growing up. He was always there for you when you needed to talk or just be with someone. You know you have some decisions to make as far as things for your parrots. And the first things you need to buy are bird cages.

bird cages are important because they are your bird’s homes, and you will want to buy the biggest bird cages you can afford. Birds like to fly, so in their cages. They usually fly from side to side instead of vertically, so you’ll want to keep that in mind when buying cages. Parrots also enjoy curling up when they sleep. They feel more protected that way. So look for square cages instead of round. You want to buy metal cages because they are the easiest to clean. Birds like to perch different places, so you will want to put several perches around the cage.

You know bird toys are important, or at least you hope they are. Your parents gave you several bird toys each Christmas and birthday as part of your gift. But why are they so important? Birds are actually very intelligent animals that need almost constant stimulation. You know you need to take the parrots out and play with them. In fact, that’s one of your favorite parts of having birds. But you are still working and go out with friends most weekends, so the birds are going to be on their own a good bit. Bored birds are not a good thing. When birds are bored, they can pick up bad habits. So yes, you will want toys, and will need to rotate them around a good bit.

bird toys do not have to cost a fortune. In fact, several things normal people would throw away make great bird toys. Consider things like old toilet paper rolls or frayed milk jugs. Birds also like to play with baby toys such as rattles. Parrots also love to climb. So get out and start buying the bird cages and bird toys that you need today. You won’t regret it.

Your great aunt died and somehow decided to leave her farm to you. Maybe she felt a bond because your mother was the closest thing she had to a daughter. But even after sixty years, the house is still in good condition and not too out-of-date. You decide to live there and try to fulfill your dream of becoming a novelist. But you’ll want an excuse to move away from the computer every so often. And last night, your father suggested you put some of the money your great aunt left you to start some kind of side business. The house has this huge screened in porch, and you think raising parrots would be the perfect answer. But, what are you going to need for in parrot cages?

You will want to buy metal parrot cages. Metal cages are the easiest to clean and the most economical. You should look for cages that are in good shape, and don’t have wires poking out or other things that could hurt your parrots. You will also want to make sure that your bird cages don’t contain lead or other harmful materials. You will want the biggest cages you can afford. Parrots were made to fly around. You will need to make sure that the parrots can’t get their heads through the wires. Parrots also like to curl up in a corner to sleep, so they really prefer square cages over round. Be sure to place several perches around the cages, so that your parrots will want to move around. One perch needs to be by the food and water. Other perches should be at varying heights.

You have heard people being called “bird brains” as an insult. However, birds are actually very intelligent beings that need almost constant stimulation. If you don’t provide bird toys for your parrots, they are likely to pick up bad habits such as biting and nipping. So you will want to get some bird toys and routinely rotate them between the birds you have. All toys need to be safe for the bird to chew, meaning no dangerous dyes, and nothing the birds might choke on. Some birds love mirrors. Other birds enjoy puzzles, especially puzzles that allow them to find food. You can even use household goods as bird toys. Try frayed milk jugs, cardboard rolls, or bells you may have around the house.

You will want to get out and play with your parrots a couple of times a day. Let them enjoy flying around your house, without the confines of bird cages. Play with your birds and get to know them. Your prospective buyers will want to know something about the birds, and it will help you sell them better. So go to your pet store, or order online, and start setting up your bird business today. I’m sure you will find yourself enjoying it, and you may even keep a parrot for yourself.

The wedding was everything you imagined your big day might be. Honeymooning in Cancoon was the best vacation of your life. And now you’re settling in to the routine of married life. You’re starting a business from home, mostly to give you something to do while you wait on starting a family. But last night your new husband shared with you that he has always dreamed of owning a parrot. You talk about it and decide to go and get one. But you know you need to figure out a couple of things before the two of you head to the pet store tonight. Your big question is; what type of parrot you would like as a pet, and the appropriate parrot cage.

Birds may have very small brains, but they are intelligent beings that need stimulation most of their waking hours. You and your husband will want to get your parrot out of the parrot cage several times a day to play with it. However, you can’t play with it all the time. It is also proven that having bird toys reduces a bird’s tendency to bad habits such as nipping or screeching. Okay, so you’re going to get some bird toys, but how many do you really need? If you rotate the toys frequently enough, five or six toys should be fine. You will want to see to it that your parrot does not become bored.

Okay, now let’s get to the specific bird toys you will want to get. Bird toys do not need to be expensive. In fact, some household goods make perfectly acceptable toys. Birds enjoy saying with cardboard rolls from paper towels or wrapping paper. They also like to play with paper and plastic frayed milk jugs. Birds play with baby toys such as rattles and wooden balls as well. All toys must be toxic free.

You will want to make sure you get good bird cages for your pet birds and parrot. You will first want to decide where you are going to put your parrot cage, and get an idea of how big it should be. You will want to put somewhere you and your husband enjoy hanging out, so that the bird will be with you when you are home. Purchase a metal parrot cage, but make sure that all the wires are in tact and are in good shape. Metal cages are by far the easiest to clean. And they are usually the most economical as well. Check to make sure that your parrot can’t get its head stuck between the bars. Parrots prefer square cages to round so that they can snuggle up in a corner to sleep. You will want to place several different perches in the cage to give your bird multiple views and exercise. Parrots tend to live a long time, so you will want to make your cage is esthetically pleasing to you.

Having a parrot can be a very rewarding experience. It does require some careful planning and preparation on your part. But most bird owners agree that it is well worth the effort. So go on and buy your parrot and a parrot cage today.

Being a pet bird owner is a huge commitment both financially and emotionally and not something to be taken lightly. After all, some birds, such as, Macaws can live up to 100 years old and require bird cages! However after much soul searching, you have concluded that you do indeed want to take on the responsibility of being a pet bird owner. So what do you do first?

The main thing to resolve is what species of pet bird is best for you and your circumstances. A good preliminary step is scouring the Internet for information in order to narrow down which type of bird seems most suited to you. Afterwards, you may wish to pick up a book on this pet bird species to do more in-depth research to insure you are heading in the right direction. You will also wish to consider whether to purchase a baby bird or an adult bird. Will you get a male or a female? Should you buy an additional bird for companionship for the times you are not around?

Once you have confirmed which type of pet bird to acquire, the next thing to do is find a reputable bird breeder. The best way to locate a breeder is through a referral from someone you trust. This may not be possible because you would have to know someone who has purchased from a breeder of the kind of bird you desire. Therefore, it might be unavoidable that you will need to deal with an unknown source. You should try to limit your chances of having a bad experience by following a few precautions.

It is preferable to try and locate an aviary in your area. That way you are able to visit the location and see how the birds are kept. Is the facility clean? Are the cages uncrowded and maintained? Is there adequate food and fresh water? Do the birds appear to be healthy and alert?

What if you have your heart set on a certain type of bird and there are no aviaries in your area that have them? You are now forced to purchase your pet bird from a distant source and have it shipped. You must be very diligent in your hunt for an ethical breeder so as not to be scammed. Search the Internet to help locate some breeders. Browse pet bird clubs and forums to request information and opinions. Contact the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been filed against them. Ask the seller for pictures with the date written on a piece of paper in the photo to make sure they actually do have the bird. Some warning signals are if the seller tries to pressure you into a quick sale, won’t produce references when asked and the price is way too cheap. Let common sense be your guide.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and request references. Here are some things to inquire whether a local or distant breeder:

1. How long have they been a bird breeder?
2. What type and how many birds do they have?
3. Do they need bird cages?
4. Has the bird been sexed?
5. How has the bird been reared? Was it handfed and socialized?
6. What type of personality does it have? Is it aggressive or a biter?
7. Is the bird microchipped?
8. What is the leg band ID number?
9. What vaccinations has the bird had so far?
10. What is the bird’s history? Has it had any injuries, diseases or conditions?
11. Is there a veterinarian health certificate? Obtain the vet’s phone number and get in touch with him to verify the bird’s health.
12. Will the seller allow a certain time frame for you to have the bird checked by your vet?
13. Is there a health guarantee and for how long?
14. What is their return policy…money back or another bird?
15. Do they take credit cards? It is a good sign if they do as you can always stop payment if there is a problem.

Get your agreement in writing and copies of all references, records and certificates. Likewise, be prepared to be asked questions from the breeder. Remember that they have put a whole lot of time, effort and money into raising these birds. Most reputable bird breeders want to know their birds are going to a good home where they will be cared for and loved. This may sound like a huge amount of hard work. However, once you get your new feathered friend home, it will all be worth it

Almost everyone has some pet or another today. There are so many different ones. From dogs to cats and everything in between, people can choose almost whatever they want and make a pet out of it. You may find barn yard animals with collars and leashes. You could run into turtles in bowls and birds in cages. So does the pet owner go to the local shop or the pet store online for relevant supplies?

There is more choices online, and a site just geared for the supplies that you need.

The online pet shops usually are specialty stores. Many shops focus on one main niche. When you browse the catalog of the online pet stores, you will discover many different items you never knew existed. These e-stores can carry products the local shops cannot because they have drop ship services. This means when you order from the pet store online, the items will be delivered to you directly from a warehouse rather than the store itself. There is no inventory cluttering up the aisle ways.

If you need a large breeding cage you can find it from an online pet merchant. In fact, you can find just about anything you would need for the little or big birds. From food to toys, the online pet store will have what you desire for the care of your feathered friends.

Low prices.

Low prices are normally a real benefit of the e-commerce pet stores which carry bird supplies. The prices are lower and the quality of products your receive from the online pet supplies shops are top of the line.

Online pet stores do not have to worry about buying power. They have a worldwide client base. These shops are able to keep their prices affordable, offering some items the local stores simply cannot stock. This is because the pet stores found on the world wide web have their own specialties. There are groups that focus on bird sales. Another devotes their attention to the fish. Still another deals with things like reptiles or snakes.

Quality service.

I explain bird cages to my customers. ” When choosing a bird cage, remember to pick a comfortable home for daily living, not a cage that is just big enough! Consider the wingspan of your pet – a cage must allow generous space for wing-stretching & a good range of movement and play – without being cramped. More space & exercise relieve many behavioral problems. Spend time every day playing with your bird outside the cage, with a playpen or in a bird-safe room. Keep cages away from smoke, chemicals, strong smells, loud noises and drafts.”

Which helps rocket my sale of bird cages. You could do the same with your field of knowledge.

You also can find good quality items from an online store. You can almost always locate what you need, and usually useful items you did not know existed. Being the expert in your animal field, what ever it maybe, is your big advantage in the online market place. The prices are reasonable. The service is good. Take a look at what is available. You may be surprised by the advantages of owning an online pet store.

Parrots are not merely beautifull birds they are messy and they can be quite loud.

The parrots can’t help this. It is what they are by nature. The large birds like macaws can be window rattlers.

Almost all birds will vocalize early in the morning, sunup and again at sundown. They will do what their species does sometimes for a half hour give or take a bit. Some sing some screech and some squawk. Some species call out to locate their flock or be sure where their mates are. Birds will vocalize as warnings when predators are present or they have become alarmed about something. It only makes sense that pet birds will do the same things.

Should your bird become alarmed it is likely to get vocal. He may call out the moment you leave his sight. Or he may get loud in the morning to let you know the suns coming up. These behaviors in a pet bird are normal and to be expected. If the bird is a large parrot they also can be very stressing, irritating and annoying to you and your neighbors particularly if excessive in volume and duration.

Excessive duration, volume and frequency or screaming often indicates the pet bird is having a problem or is stressed out over something and is just not happy. There are many things that can upset a bird especially a captive bird. So finding out why a bird is screaming is the first step. Some things to look for are.

1. Illness or injury?

2. Hunger and or thirst?

3. Are his surroundings new? Did you move? Did you move his cage to another room?

4. Inadequate attention. Have you and others been to busy to give him adequate daily attention?

5. A big change in family members either added or lost? Maybe a new puppy, baby? Did a kid leave for college? Did someone pass away?

6. Fear?

7. Not enough rest or sleep? To much light, or traffic by his cage.

8. Jealousy? Are you neglecting your bird in favor of a new arrival or pet?

9. Boredom? Unhappy birds most often are bored birds.

Assuming their environment has been stable a period of time. It should be relatively easy to discover the cause of the birds screaming. If you can eliminate the first 8 possibilities then boredom is the likely culprit. Most captive birds get bored rather easily. They eat and perch, ring the bell and wait to interact with their owner for a few hours at least, boring!

In the wild birds spend the vast majority of their time seeking food. Very often they must learn to solve a problem just to get to their food. They have a great deal more to do than just to eat and so should captive birds. Foraging consumes most of their waking life. Infact foraging for food is normal activity and should be introduced to all pet birds. A happy bird is a foraging bird.

Making your bird forage for his food will help keep him occupied when the family cannot. With the help of a good supply store and the use of your own ingenuity this isn’t difficult to accomplish. A good supply store will have a number of toys designed just to make your bird forage. You may have to do a bit of training in the beginning but most learn quickly because there is food involved.

Helping your pet to stay busy while doing what he would normally do if not for you is a nearly surefire way to stop a birds screaming and keeping all birds quieter. Your bird may know where the food is but he will need to think and work a little to get to it. Just as nature intended too. Beats the heck out of eating, ringing the bell and perching doesn’t it?

When you get yourself a parrot as a pet, you must be ready for the fact you will not have peace and quiet all the time. And besides, if that is what you want to happen, you should have bought an aquarium and fill it with various fishes instead. It is an instinct for the bird to react like they screaming because that is how they do it if they are placed on their natural habitat. This is actually a form of communication that they do to call out to other birds even if they are very far from one another. Now that you have made them a pet, all that is left for you to do is find ways to learn how to stop parrot from screaming.

Now that you know that this will eventually happen, you have to be very sure of your decision before you buy the bird. They cannot be silent all the time and the noises that they do can be sometimes annoying. If you think that it is fine with you, you must also consider the feelings of the other people in your house or those that live nearby. You don’t want to get into trouble later on just because your bird decided to show its natural behavior.

To find out more on how to stop parrot from screaming, you may want to read printed books about the topic. There are a lot of resources that you can find, which can help you with your problem. You can choose the ones that pertain to the exact specie of the bird that you have or you plan to purchase.

You can also check out different websites on the internet that tackle the subject. You may also want to check out personal blogs of pet owners like you to learn how they were able to handle such behavior of their pet bird. You can also join discussions on online forums to meet people who have undergone same situation or those who have successfully handled such to learn techniques and tips from them.

If you think that this is easy, you will definitely change your mind after so many days that your parrot doesn’t stop from screaming from day till night. There are birds that will resort to such attitude until you give them food and there are birds that will only scream after you have gotten out of the room and will remain meek once you returned in the premises where they can see you. It can really be frustrating and agonizing. You must be focused on the task and on what you want to achieve. You have to be very determined that you can do it and persevere real hard until you see the signs that your pet is actually improving.

To make sure that you will meet such goal, you can start by following these steps.

1. You must always find time to train your pets or simply bond with them to let them know that you care and that you will protect them.
