With tough economic times, more and more people are searching for ways to make extra money without any money upfront, if you love pets then pet sitting is an option you might want to consider. We live in a highly mobile society and whether for business or pleasure, people on the average travel a fair amount. It is often difficult to take your pets with you especially if you are flying or taking a cruise, so this leaves the pet owner with the difficult task of what to do with their beloved dog, cat, or bird. Kennels can be very expensive and often can be quite traumatic for the pet; they can even make them sick.

That is where pet sitting comes in, as a pet sitter you will either come to your client’s home, or you will bring their pet to your home depending on your client’s preference. You will feed, water, exercise and love their pet while they are gone. You may also need to provide grooming, and if the pet is ill, or elderly you might be asked to give them medications as well.

To start this business all you will need is time and a lot of love, your clients will supply the rest. As time goes on pet sitters normally will get bonded, so that owners feel comfortable allowing them access to their homes. You might also consider obtaining certifications in pet sitting and animal first aid.

You will want to print up some paper work on your computer for your new business, a contract, a pet information sheet, and a daily log. The pet information sheet will list all the dogs’ vital information including age, any medical conditions, allergies, and most importantly the name and phone number of their vet. A daily log will be for you to fill out while the pet owner is away, this will allow them to see what time you have spent with their pet, and what you did with them while the owner was away.

Once you have all your preparations in place, then it is time to advertise your pet business, start with flyers and business cards as these can be designed on your computer and printed out for no extra money, provided you have the paper and ink. Once you have completed a few jobs consider taking out an ad in your local newspaper.

Pet sitting services are very popular these days and depending on what is available in your area, you may find that soon you are booked up solid for months, and need to hire more people. Suddenly the business you started without money is bringing in more money than you could possibly have imagined.

If you need money now, like I mean in the next hour, try what I did. I am making more money now than in my old business and you can too, read the amazing, true story, in the link below.
Yes, it's vitally important to continually add new customers to your ranks. But it's also equally important to have a customer aftercare program in place to maintain the health and increase the profitability of your existing customer relationships. You'll be well on your way to building stronger, longer-lasting, more profitable relationships with your customers when you implement your very own "Marshall Plan."

My wife likes to shop at the local Safeway. Is it because of the competitive prices? Yes, that’s part of it. Is it because of the convenient location? Yes, that’s part of it too. She also likes their produce department. But the biggest reason she likes to shop at the local Safeway is “Marshall.”

Now Marshall is very good check-out person. He’s fast, efficient and seldom makes a mistake. But his “job competency” is not the reason why my wife keeps going back. She keeps going back because Marshall always has a warm and friendly smile. And because when Marshall asks, “How are you today?” well, by golly, you just know he’s sincere about it.

You see, for those few minutes while she’s a customer in his check-out line Marshall makes my wife feel genuinely valued and appreciated. And week after week she buys our groceries at “Marshall’s” Safeway.

As business owners, salespeople or marketing professionals very few of us will have the same weekly, face-to-face opportunity as Marshall to make our customers feel valued and appreciated. And yet if we’re smart we’ll make sure we have our very own “Marshall” Plan in effect. We’ll make sure — once we’ve “rescued” our customer from the grips of our competitor — that we have a customer aftercare program in place to maintain the health and increase the profitability of that relationship.

This makes perfect marketing sense. And, with studies showing that the total cost of getting a new customer to be 10 times that of simply holding onto an existing one it can also make you plenty of dollars and cents. Particularly when you consider that a five percent improvement in customer retention can lead to an 85-percent increase in profits. You don’t have to be King Solomon to see the wisdom in those numbers.

For example, imagine for a moment that you work in the real estate industry as either a real estate agent or loan officer. John and Judy First-Time Homebuyer purchase their first home or close on their first loan through your company. Assuming that John and Judy are upwardly-mobile professionals they’ll probably purchase a minimum of another 4 – 5 homes during their lifetimes.

If you’re in the lending business, that’s another 4 – 5 loans, at a minimum. If you’re an agent or a broker there exists the potential for another 8 – 10 transactions. (Counting the sells as well as the buys.) John and Judy alone — even if they never send you a single referral — are conceivably worth many thousands of dollars to you during their lifetimes. But if you’re actively working on this relationship…if you’re putting forth a consistent and concentrated effort to make John and Judy feel valued and appreciated…then they’ll send you lots of referrals. I GUARANTEE IT.

Now stop a moment and multiply the above example by 40, 50, 500 or 1000 and you’ll understand why today’s savviest marketers are placing greater emphasis on “Share of Customer” and “Lifetime Value” than they do “Share of Market.”

But without proper planning and execution you won’t come close to realizing John and Judy’s full “lifetime value”. The same thing holds true for any other industry as well.

Good Communication Is The Key

The key to increasing your “Share of Customer” and maximizing “Lifetime Value” lies in continually strengthening the bond between you and your customer. It should come as no surprise to anyone that good communication plays a major role in this bonding process.

An organized and consistent communications program will keep you in touch with your customers on a regular basis — and increase your Top of Mind Awareness (TOMA) with them. Plus, by welcoming and encouraging their feedback you’ll be reminding them how very important and very special they are to you. And, we all like to feel special, valued and appreciated. We all like to feel “loved.”

In one of his many magazine articles marketing consultant James Rosenfield writes: “Every customer relationship begins with something that looks like love.” Your objective as a business owner, marketing professional or sales executive is to move your new customer beyond “something that looks like love” to the real deal.

Ideally, you want to turn each new customer into a walking, talking, word-of-mouth advertisement for you, your products and (or) services. And a proactive, “Customer Aftercare” letter program can go a long way toward achieving this ideal. But most of us in the sales profession, unlike Marshall, don’t usually have the opportunity for weekly personal contact. In that case direct mail is an efficient and effective customer retention tool. And here are a few examples of the type of communications that should be in any good Customer Aftercare Letter Program:

Thank You Letter – To be mailed the very day the sale is closed. Sure, this is something we all do — right? Well maybe all of us do it but I know from experience that a number of those other folks don’t.

Letter From “Mr. Big” – To be mailed 10 days to 2 weeks after the account is opened. In a smaller company it should come from the president. In a larger company, a senior manager. This letter is a warm ownership/senior management welcome and also informs the new customer that, ultimately, “the buck stops here.”

Sample wording. “If the product or products you’ve purchased, or anyone in my organization fails to meet with your complete approval — now or in the future — I would like to know about it.”

How Did I/We Do? Letter – Mailed a week after the sale. It’s a friendly letter explaining how important honest feedback is to you because it’s the only way you can improve. Attached to the letter is a brief customer satisfaction survey and stamped, return envelope. The feedback you receive from this survey will be of tremendous value to you in your ongoing marketing efforts. This feedback will help you make more sales and generate increased profits.

Happy Anniversary Letter – Sample opening: “It’s been a year ( ___ years) since you: opened your account (closed on your house, closed on your loan) with us and I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary and thanks again. We look forward to working with you for many years to come”

At Random, Customer Appreciation Letter – Sample opening: “Do you ever get so caught up in the mundane everyday responsibilities of your job that you sometimes overlook things? I know I do. And that’s why I’m writing you.” From that point you go on to tell your customer how much you value and appreciate them and their business.

Don’t do any selling in this letter. Helpful hint: Mail this letter right before you know your customer will be in contact with a large number of people. For example, right before Thanksgiving or before a trade convention or industry gathering. This way you’ll get maximum mileage from the positive word-of-mouth this letter creates.

How Are We Doing?/How Have We Done? Survey Cover Letter – You should regularly survey your customers, at least once a year. Just the act of sending out the survey sends them a message that they are important to you. But the greatest value and benefit to you and your business is the feedback you’ll get on how you can improve. So, word your cover letter in such a way that it will encourage response.

Sample copy: “At ABC Widgets we’re committed to offering you the affordable high-performance widgets backed up by a level of service that sets the standard for the industry. Your feedback is of tremendous help to us in measuring how well we’re meeting that commitment.” The survey, whether or not they return it to you is yet one more indication that they are important to you.

Birthday Cards - It used to be if you visited any Petco store you’d find forms to fill out with your pet’s name, address and birthday. Complete one and during the month of your pet’s birthday Petco would send your “Fido” or “Fifi” a birthday card and an invitation to come to the store and get a 10 percent discount.

Shouldn’t we treat our human customers with similar care and thoughtfulness? I think you know the answer.

Hand Written “Congratulations” Cards – Whenever you or your assistant read or hear about awards, appointments, promotions and other forms of recognition earned by your clients – or their children – acknowledge this with a letter or card. This is a small thing to do but it is greatly appreciated and will pay big dividends.

Thanksgiving Letter – What better time to show our thanks and appreciation to our customers than right before a national holiday dedicated to being thankful and appreciative? One client I sent my Thanksgiving letter to liked it so much he insisted on paying me for it so that he could adapt it and send it out to his employees and customers. For a complimentary copy of this letter send me an email to ENicastro@positiveresponse.com.

As Thanksgiving is traditionally the start to the holiday season another benefit to this letter is that you can work in your holiday greetings and best wishes for the season. This way, you’ll be among the very first to do so and your sentiments won’t get lost in the deluge of Christmas cards and Season’s Greetings that will come pouring in later.

In addition to the above communications you’ll also be sending out your normal promotional mailings and regular reminders of the benefits of doing business with you and your company. Plus, you’ll also want to send a quarterly newsletter.

With the inexpensive database marketing technology available today there’s little reason for any company not to have a well-thought-out, consistent and clearly defined “Customer Aftercare” program. There’s only one drawback — it’s not a “quick fix” for low sales. But the benefits are many, including: maximized customer retention and loyalty, reduced marketing costs and higher profits.

Most important, your “Customer Aftercare” program will set you apart from the vast majority of your competition. And give you the competitive edge that leads to higher sales and profits.

The busy life makes people crave for time. No one has time to take care of family members let alone the pets like dogs, cats etc. In this scenario people look for day care facilities for their pets. The requirement of dog daycare is increasing day by day, as owners do not want to leave their beloved pet alone at home. Therefore, the dog daycare business is having great prospects in the future. However, for those who want to start this business have many questions regarding starting of dog daycare center.

Dog daycare is more than about baby-sitting. Dog daycare deals with pet sitting involving multiple dogs, but with emphasis on proper care and attention. Since multiple dogs social interaction with other dogs is important, and handling different types of dogs is not an easy job. Dog daycare involves exercising, bite training, bathing, timely feeding, and playtime. What dog owners expect from a dog daycare is security, proper care, and pampering of their dogs when they are busy at work.

For those who want to start a dog daycare, it is very important that they have love for animals. First step for starting a dog daycare is to have a nice name for the firm. Then find a proper place to set up the business. If you have a large lot this could be your own backyard. Find sources for investment capital for setting up the infrastructure. There should be enough space in the building for indoor exercising. There should be enclosed yards for dogs to run around to socialize. There should be enough equipment for keeping dogs active as well as entertained while in day care. Numerous kennels must also be readied so that, non-socializing dogs could be separated from other dogs.

Once the infrastructure is ready get the required permits as well as licenses such as veterinary department permit, business license, fire department permits, etc. Then have training about dog care to make sure that the facilities and trainers are well equipped to handle the dogs. Dogs can be nasty at times especially among a group of dogs, so ability to handle any situation is necessary. Therefore, select the dog trainers with necessary qualifications in dog management, grooming and training for supervision of dogs, to ensure that the dogs are not bullying or becoming aggressive. The number of dog trainers should be relative to the capacity of the daycare center.

Setting up of diet service to cover the varying dietary needs of diverse dogs of age, as well as, breed is necessary. It is necessary to have access to veterinary medical services for the dogs in the daycare center. Cleaning service must be set up to keep the premises clean and clear of odours. There should be arrangements for dogs’ safety during rains and other natural calamities. Once these things are set, scale the charges for dog daycare services with your eye on recovering the investment and to cover the running cost. After that, advertise your dog day care to lure customers.

If this all seems like a lot of work, guess what, it is! But you can make it a more enjoyable experience by checking out the possibilities of franchising. Many very lucrative doggie daycare centers are already up and running and available for franchising. One such center is the DogSmith which has a unique setup and reputation. They can help you with all your questions and even some questions you would never think to ask. Buying a franchise is the best way to go because they also help with advertising and marketing your new franchise. This can be one of the largest costs after purchasing you franchise. So remember, franchising is the best kept secret of the 21st Century.

In my article “Pets Are Big Business,” I discuss the trends that make pet products and services such a great opportunity for entrepreneurs: America is a nation of animal lovers, and pets are the new status symbols; a well cared-for pet is a sign of achievement.

Not only do we have more pets per household then ever before; additional trends in pet demographics create new niches for pet products and services. In particular, “senior pets” are carving out a niche of their own. Consider:

–Pets are living longer than ever before. This is a self-perpetuating cycle: pets receive better care; they live longer; older pets require specialized products and services.

–People are more likely than they used to be to adopt older pets; therefore animal shelters and rescue organizations are more likely to keep these pets available for adoption rather than euthanize them.

–No-kill shelters, unheard-of a few years ago, are increasingly common and are also more likely to keep older pets for adoption (as well as pets with other special needs).

This trend toward an older pet population creates the need for a whole new line of pet products and services. Think of the possibilities:

–Heated beds to keep elderly pets warm at night.

–Special furniture, ramps, and steps for pets who can’t climb as well as they used to.

–Pet food that is formulated for less-active pets and is easier to chew.

–Doggy and kitty day care and home visitation for older and special-needs pets.

–Buggies and strollers for less-mobile small pets.

–Skin, ear, eye, and dental care products for older pets.

–Doggy sweaters and jackets to keep less-active pets warm.

Pets are big business indeed, and older pets and special-needs pets present a special area of opportunity as they become more numerous-and more respected-members of the pet population.

When you’ve decided which product or service for older pets lights your entrepreneurial fire, you’ll need to find a marketing expert who shares your passion for pets. You deserve success for your devotion to this special niche!

There’s nothing like getting paid to do something you love. The good news is, as an animal lover, opportunities abound for you to do just that. If you’re looking to start a home-based pet business but aren’t sure which doggie path to take, check out these five options.

1. Pooper Scooper. It’s a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it. And that’s the whole point. There are many people who will gladly pay for this service. Create a flyer that says something like, “Got Poop? I’ll Scoop!” Then hand them out to your neighbors, relatives and friends. If they don’t have a dog, chances are they know someone who does and will pass the information along.

Another variation (if the yard doesn’t need cleaning up) is offering to clean kitty litter boxes, bird and pocket pet cages, and fish tanks/bowls/aquariums.

2. Pet Photographer. Why not combine your passion for photography with your love of animals? Practice on your own pets before offering your services to others. Once you have the techniques down (because getting pets to sit still is definitely a technique!) come up with some creative props and settings for different types of animals. Then think of something you can offer that’s different from other photographers. This idea may take some time to research and get in place, but the pay-off may be well worth it.

3. Pet Exercise. Are you looking to lose weight? How about getting paid to do it? Get in shape in no time while spending time with the animals you love. This isn’t limited to dog walking. Offer to play fetch in the backyard. Play with the cat. Or sit outside with a rabbit or guinea pig. Many pet owners desire to do these things with their pets but often just don’t have the time and have no problem paying someone to make sure their animals get proper care and exercise.

4. Pet Items Delivery. Some pet items can conveniently be picked up during weekly grocery shopping. Other items need a special run to the pet store. Why not contact potential customers and offer to make a weekly or bi-weekly run? Set aside specific days that you will make the necessary trip to purchase the items that customers need for their pets. Personally deliver each customer’s order, along with an itemized receipt. Charge a flat fee for each trip. If a run to more than one store is necessary, charge a fee per stop. You’ll find many people also tip for this service. It may take some time to develop your customer base, but once you do, the sky is the limit. The only thing you have to worry about is fitting everything in your vehicle!

5. Grooming. This is the only idea listed here that requires some professional training. There are various dog grooming schools, including some carefully monitored online courses that allow you to learn on your own. You’ll need to decide whether you want to handle only the shampooing and hair grooming or if you’ll add things like nail trimming and ear cleaning. Gain sufficient experience by grooming your family pets and take photos to use as samples when attracting new clients.

There will never be a shortage of people looking for good, quality care for their pets. And because you love animals, you may just be the one to provide it.

<img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a138/damieana/japan.jpg" border="0" alt="japan dog Pictures, Images and Photos"align="right"/>Many people are interested in running a business from home, and the numbers of moms that are setting up and enjoying a successful home business are increasing daily. Are you a mom that is interested in running a business from home?

Ideas for Running a Business from Home – The First Hurdle

Finding a suitable idea for running a business from home is the first hurdle you have to overcome when starting your own business from home. In fact, a lack of ideas is one of the major issues that holds a person back from running a business from home.

However, in actual fact, the areas for moms interested in running a business from home are vast. Just take a look around and you will see an abundance of different businesses that are now being carried out successfully from home. To name just a few business opportunities for running a business from home would include home-based coffee stalls; bed and breakfast services; secretarial services; hairdressers and barber services and tuition grinds. All of these business undertakings are great ideas for running a business from home, and all of which can be run with minimum capital and comfortably operated from home.

Another great idea for running a business from home is to become a Pet Sitter.

How About Staring Your Own Pet Sitting Business?

That’s right – why not start your own Pet Sitting business, and if you happen to be an animal lover, all the better, as you will then get paid to care for pets which you love anyway, just one of the reasons why a Pet Sitting business is one of the great ideas for moms interested in running a business from home.

In fact it could be argued that there are few careers that offer so many benefits because if the Pet Sitting business is for you, there is little doubt that it will be fun, interesting and rewarding. Not only is a Pet Sitting business a service that is needed and appreciated, it actually requires little extra space if any, and very little start up costs but it has great earning potential. You could be up and running a business from home in no time.

With Pet Sitting, not only will you be running a business from home and enjoying the freedom of being your own boss, setting your own hours around your family life and other life commitments etc., you can also chose to work your own hours, part time or full time. Anyone who has ever watched animals do the funniest things or such like, will know that no two days will ever be the same!

What Is A Pet Sitting Business All About?

A Pet Sitter is an individual who is hired to care for pets while their owners are away from home for any reason, for example on holiday, travelling for work, away for the weekend, sick etc. As a Pet Sitter you can care for other people’s animals and pets in the pets own homes, which people like, because it give the pet owners total convenience as well as peace of mind, knowing that their pets and homes are being cared for while they are away. The pet is happy too because it gets to stay at home, instead of a stressful trip to a boarding facility or kennel. As a pet sitter you can choose to work with all types of pets or you can specialize in particular types of animals (e.g. just dogs, cats, fish or horses, etc.), also what types of pet care services you want to offer to your clients. For example, as well as standard Pet Sitting business services (feeding, walking, playing, caring for), your Pet Sitting business might offer overnight Pet Sitting, companionship by the hour, or house sitting.

Starting your own Pet Sitting business requires no special education or experience to break into this career and succeed, which is just another reason why starting a Pet Sitting Business is a great idea for a running a business from home.

/>Train your dog at home to eat in different places. Indoors, outdoors, in different rooms and at different times of the day. (This will help so the dog will eat when you are away or when you take him to a show. )

Train your dog to a crate from the beginning so it will consider its crate its bed. That way you can take that crate into a motel, into the show site, set it out on the grass when it is a hot day and you are stopped at a restaurant with no problems.

Train your dog to go potty on a leash! Flexi leashes are great for this!

Train your dog to “settle” in the crate and in your vehicle. A raging noisy dog is NOT a good advertisement for your breed or yourself. Set up training situations if necessary and reward the dog for quiet behavior.

Always picture yourself in the “winner’s circle” before you go in the ring!

Pick up your armband in plenty of time and check out where the restrooms are the minute you arrive!

Wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.

Be sure your dog is groomed well. A bath and a brush are two key ingredients. Some people spend a fortune on dog show equipment and win nothing. Some people spend nothing (or hardly so) and win a lot. There is a difference in the amount of equipment you will need depending on the breed that you have. Poodles require a LOT more expertise and equipment to groom than German Shorthairs! A minimum for most people is a grooming table and a kit with brushes, wipe rags, etc.

PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG! BRING ALONG PLASTIC BAGS AND USE THEM. People who don’t do this are giving all dog shows and dog people a bad name and restricting our rights more and more at different motel chains.

If you have a young puppy or a dog that may be coming down with something and you’re not sure, do not walk him in the public areas where other dogs are. Try to find an isolated area.

Be at the ring on time. (Always buy a catalog, it benefits the show giving club and it tells you where to go and when to be there!)

Get show photos if you take a win (blue ribbon or better) especially if the win is worth points. This is your record of achievement just in case the AKC or whatever show club is putting on the event mixes up the records or the records get lost.

Get in a good supply of peppermints (mints absorb the extra adrenalin smell from your own breath and will help to keep your dog calmer if you are nervous).

Watch your dog at all times around the ring, you may have a “good dog” but not everyone else does!

Keep your mouth closed and your eyes open.

Take along your vaccination records. All of them. The best idea is to always keep an extra copy in your vehicle.

Invest in a crate. For the larger breeds, a wire crate is best. Many of the larger breeds are coated and will get hot in an “airline type” of kennel, where a wire crate will give them more air..

Join your local Kennel Club! The people there can help you learn to show. And join your Breed Club if at all possible. These people will help you to learn to show and if you are a member, you will also know when the local shows are coming up!

/>The age of unconventional business ventures has arrived. All kinds of services are available to enhance the wellness of human beings, and now those services are being extended to our pets. After all, they are an important part of our lives and enrich it in so many different ways. So while people have been enjoying massage for thousands of years, pets are now getting their turn. Dog massage businesses and schools are popping up across the country to teach people the art of the therapeutic rub-down.

Dogs are perhaps the most preferred pets because of their loyalty, exuberance and how useful they can be. If you love animals and are constantly seeking ways to improve their lives — and you give a good back rub — a dog massage business may be right up your alley.

Don’t fret if you’ve never massaged a pet in your life. There are pet massage training centers that give you step-by-step lessons on how to massage dogs or cats, or even horses. In fact, these schools conduct live pet massage training sessions where you are taught exactly how to do your job. Dog massage courses also give you an edge as far as dealing with vets and customers is concerned. Being able to work well and coordinate with veterinarians is key to your success, as many of your new clients will have been referred to you by a vet.

Even if you can’t attend dog massage classes in person, there are home training courses that you can study and complete at your leisure. Most of these schools even give you a certification on the successful completion of your course. This will place you in a better position when it comes to finding potential clients.

Good massage schools give you practical experience on how to deal with different breeds. They go one step further to teach you different massage styles like a general holistic massage, healing massage for an injured dog, athlete massage and more.

Do you know that pet massage therapists on an average earn up to $40 and more per hour? That’s how lucrative a dog massage business can be. The best part about this business is that you can be as flexible as you want to be. You can decide to be a sole pet massage provider or you may employ a team of people. If you have enough space, you can even start your own massage school. And if you already own a pet care facility, you may use this as an add-on to your existing business. Many dog groomers are signing up for massage classes because the two services are so complimentary. Another option you have is starting out as a single provider and then employing others and adding on more services as your business grows.

Advertising is very important. Use the internet and local newspapers to advertise your services. Get a business card printed and hand it out to pet owners. You may also need a license to operate. So make arrangements to get one. Price your services reasonably to attract customers.

Before opening your business, prepare a complete business strategy that covers your initial investment, costs and takings. Be realistic. You certainly won’t become a millionaire overnight, but if you keep at it, this can fetch you some substantial revenues.

People everywhere have pets and there are so many aspects for business opportunities available that you can easily choose something your comfortable with.

Pets are universal. Odds are, you have one or maybe more pets in your own home. For most people, their pets are a part of their family and are treated accordingly. Pet stores, boutiques, groomers, sitters, bakeries and specialty shops are booming businesses in this day and age. Many of these pet business opportunities could easily translate into a home based or small business for the willing entrepreneur.

Pet sitting for example, is a pet business opportunity that can be done as a home based business. Many people who live in both rural and city environments look every year for someone to care for pets when they are away on vacation or business trips. People who live in apartment complexes look for someone to walk their dog everyday.

Pet sitting can be started with a low investment. Getting your name and business known will be a large part of your expenses. Advertising in local publications is a good way to start and never under estimate the power of the web. More and more often people are turning to the Internet for local products and services. In some locations, you will have to be bonded, and it is a good idea to provide solid references and prior experience to your potential clients.

On a larger scale, pet stores are cropping up everywhere you look. Although you will have a much larger overhead with a pet business opportunity of this kind, you may find the benefits more rewarding. Having a stable location and a potentially bigger advertising budget will aid in the attraction of customers.

There are also many animal business opportunities that can be done online. Owning a virtual pet supply store for example, will cut back on your overhead if you are interested in opening a pet store without having to rent or buy a facility. Also, on the web, you can provide information regarding the different pets and different pet care that is required. This is a good way to enlist the trust of your clients.

An unusual pet business opportunity that has become quite common is the animal boutique. People all over the world have dressed up their pooches and kitties in outfits ranging from prom dresses to biker vests. Don’t forget the reptiles and rodents that sport fancy collars and harnesses. This would be a specialized example of a pet store that can be done in the general public or online as well!

Another prime example of a pet business opportunity that would translate easily from the public to the web would be the animal bakery. The public spends thousands of dollars every year on special treats and cookies for their beloved pets of all breeds. This would be a fun and satisfying endeavor for the chef or nutritionist too!

Pet grooming is another alternative pet business opportunity that is widely popular today. Depending on what type of establishment you plan to start will depend on the educational investment you need to make. If you just want to bathe animals, you will not need much education on the different breeds. However, if you are looking to provide a more comprehensive business to a wide variety of breeds, you will need more information and possibly some professional training.

Of course with any business, be it home based or out in the general public, you will need to research your legal requirements, such as taxes and licenses. Most cities and counties will have restrictions and applicable laws pertaining to pet businesses, so do your homework.

If you are looking for a career change and already have pet experience, then the market is primed for you to enter into a pet business opportunity of your own. Even the novice pet owner can walk a dog. Animals are a permanent part of our culture and existence. There will always be a need for those with pet experience – even if that experience does not include buying sunglasses for your iguana!
